My suggestion: Buy an Android device like I did:

It&#039;s an open system (unlike the iPhones and whatever i-devices there are, you can replace the OS by customized ROMs etc.). You have a (basic) Linux on it and developing applications is done with Java. I am very happy with that device (even though it&#039;s my first non-SE phone since 9 years, but that&#039;s another story).
